CELTA is a full–time four–week intensive training program designed to prepare candidates to become qualified English language teachers. The training is full–time, 40 hours per week, over 40 weeks with some outside reading and preparation work required.
At the end of the training period, sponsored candidates who qualify will be expected to start teaching for ELI Schools immediately and will be offered an employment contract. Candidates will be paid training rate of €17 per hour during a three–month probation period. Newly qualified teachers will be assigned senior teacher as a mentor to help guide and support them. Candidates who successfully pass probation will move to a rate of €18.50 per hour and a full–time contract.
