Choosing a summer camp abroad is a big decision. Students want to improve their English, make friends and enjoy new experiences. Parents need to know they will be safe, supported and happy while away from home.
The ELI Junior Summer Camp brings both together through English classes, supervised activities, excursions, host family accommodation and dedicated student support.
One complete summer programme
English classes
15 hours of General English per week through an interactive programme designed for young learners.
Host family accommodation
A carefully selected host family, shared room and a welcoming home environment.
Full-board meals
Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner included.
Activities
Four half-day sessions and three evening events each week, combining sport, creativity, culture and social experiences.
Dublin City Experience
One full day in Dublin every week.
Weekend excursion
One full-day tour each week, with a mix of culture, adventure and the outdoors.
Airport transfers
Return transfers from Dublin Airport included.
Student support
Welfare, academic and practical support throughout the programme.

English for real communication
Lessons that connect with the experience
English in Action combines communicative and project-based learning with themes from Irish culture, history and music. Students work independently and in groups, investigate topics and prepare projects to present to their classmates. The themes explored in class continue through visits and activities, helping students use English with a real purpose throughout the week.

Learn, play, explore and make friends
The camp is designed to keep students active, involved and connected. They spend four days each week on campus, with English classes and a varied programme of sporting, creative and social activities.
Sports
Football, volleyball, badminton, archery, Gaelic football, hurling and team challenges.
Creative activities
Tie-dye, bracelet making, clay crafts, Lego challenges, mask making and art projects.
Social events
Discos, karaoke, quizzes, bingo, themed evenings and group games.
Outdoor activities
Beach games, walks, fresh-air challenges and time exploring the local area.
Dublin days
One full day in Dublin each week, combining cultural visits, workshops and city experiences.
Excursions
One full-day trip each weekend to places such as Emerald Park, Causey Farm, Malahide or Howth.

Feeling at home builds confidence
Living with a host family gives students a safe and supportive base throughout their stay. It also helps them experience daily life in Ireland and practise English naturally outside school.

Selection and inspection
Every host family is visited and assessed by the ELI Accommodation Team before approval. Families must meet defined standards for the home environment, facilities and their ability to support international students. Approved families are reinspected annually.
Vetting
All adults in the household hold current An Garda Síochána vetting.
Their well-being comes first
Supervised, supported and never left alone
Every class, activity, excursion and evening event has a dedicated ELI staff member present. Students are supported throughout programme hours by our academic, reception, accommodation and Student Experience teams.
Dedicated supervision
Staff are present during all organised programme activities.
Child safeguarding
Teachers, activity staff and host families complete An Garda Síochána vetting and certified child protection training.

Big enough to explore. Small enough to feel familiar.
Drogheda is a historic Irish town approximately 45 minutes from Dublin city centre and 30 minutes from Dublin Airport. Its compact size, welcoming atmosphere and easy access to shops, culture and outdoor activities make it a strong setting for a first international experience. Students gain independence while staying close to the structure and support of the programme.

The 2027 programme runs from 27 June to 8 August. Students can join for between one and six weeks, depending on the selected arrival date and remaining programme dates.
