The Work and Study Non-EU Programme is designed for international students who want to make real progress in English while experiencing life in an English-speaking country.
The programme includes 25 weeks of English classes, an official exam and an eight-week holiday period as part of an eight-month visa.
Alongside your studies, you can join job-search workshops, social activities and an international student community that helps you settle into life in Ireland.

Choose your city and start date
Study in Dublin or Drogheda and begin your programme on an available Monday.

Select your English course
Choose General English 15 or, when you reach B2 level, move to IELTS Preparation 15 as an alternative, subject to availability.

Make real progress in your English
Develop practical English for everyday, academic and professional situations through communicative, task-based lessons.
English levels
Classes are available from beginner to advanced level (A1–C1).
Academic progress
Progress tests take place every three weeks, with level progression reviewed every 12 weeks.
General English — 15 hours per week
Improve speaking, listening, reading and writing while building grammar and vocabulary.
IELTS Preparation — 15 hours per week
Students at B2 level or above may be able to move to IELTS Preparation, subject to academic guidance and availability.

Understand the requirements for your stay
Immigration requirements may change and depend on individual circumstances. Final requirements should be confirmed before enrolment and travel.
Students must be 18 years of age by the course start date.
They must have a minimum A1 level of English.
Non-European students should be enrolled on a 25-week general English course.
Non-EU students must register with local immigration within 90 days of arriving in Ireland and provide proof of funds for living expenses.
Should have at least one week of accommodation confirmed on arrival.
Should have health insurance.
All students enrolled on this programme are required to sit a recognised exam.
Immigration requirements may change and depend on individual circumstances. Final requirements should be confirmed before enrolment and travel.

Does ELI guarantee employment?
No. ELI Schools does not guarantee employment or provide paid job placements. You can access weekly inductions, CV workshops, help-desk sessions, WhatsApp support and selected talks or networking opportunities.
Do I need a visa?
This depends on your nationality. Some students require an entry visa before travelling, while others register with immigration after arrival.
What is learner protection?
It protects your tuition fees if ELI Schools is unable to deliver your programme.
