More than a short English course
Build the skills and confidence to live in Ireland
The Work and Study EU Programme is designed for European citizens who want to make meaningful progress in English while experiencing everyday life in Ireland.
Choose your city, course and length of stay. Alongside your English classes, you will have access to practical resources that help you understand the Irish employment environment and approach your job search with greater confidence.
You will also become part of an international school community, with social activities, student support and opportunities to use English throughout your day.

Study in Dublin or Drogheda for 12, 25, 36 or 44 weeks.

Select your English course
Choose General English 15, Extended English 20 or IELTS Preparation, depending on your level, goals and availability.

Pick your accommodation
Choose from available host family or student residence options according to your city, dates and preferred way of living.

Prepare for your job search
Join weekly inductions, CV workshops, help-desk sessions and selected networking activities.

Experience life outside class
Meet people through cultural activities, student events, local experiences, excursions and trips.

Develop practical English for everyday, academic and professional situations through communicative, task-based lessons.

PROGRESS
Tests every 3 weeks
General English
15 hrs/week
Improve speaking, listening, reading and writing while building grammar and vocabulary.
IELTS Preparation
15 hrs/week
Prepare for your target score through structured lessons and regular practice.
Extended English
20 hrs/week
Add extra classes focused on Speaking Fluency or Professional English, depending on your level.

Understand how the job search works in Ireland
Finding work in a new country requires preparation, consistency and realistic expectations. The ELI Employment Hub provides workshops, information and practical guidance to help you understand where to search, how to present your experience and what employers may expect.
Weekly induction and CV workshop
Learn about preparing a CV for the Irish market, job-search platforms, interview preparation, workplace culture, employment rights and commonly requested documents.
Weekly help desk
Bring your CV for general feedback and ask practical questions about your job search.
Employment WhatsApp group
Join a dedicated city group for interview tips, job-search information and relevant updates.
Talks and networking
Selected events may include career talks, guest speakers, employment sector information, student networking and guidance about job fairs and recruitment events.
Opportunities depend on your level, experience, availability, location and current labour-market conditions.
