JOB SHADOWING
FOR LANGUAGE TEACHERS
See how teaching actually works — and apply it to your own classroom
This programme is designed for language teachers in adult education who want to move beyond theory and gain a clear understanding of how teaching works in real classroom environments.
Delivered at ELI Schools, this one-week experience takes place inside a live international school, where participants observe lessons, engage with teachers, and turn real classroom situations into practical learning.
WHAT THIS PROGRAMME OFFERS
This is not a typical training course.
You won’t be learning about teaching in a controlled or theoretical setting.
You’ll be inside real classrooms, with real students, observing how teachers:
●
Manage mixed-level groups
●
Keep students engaged
●
Adapt lessons in real time
Each observation is guided, structured, and followed by reflection — so what you see becomes something you can actually use.
The goal is simple: understand what works, and why.
More information
HOW THE LEARNING WORKS
Observation only has value if you know how to interpret it.
That’s why the programme follows a clear process:
Observe
Attend live classes with a defined focus and guided observation tasks.
Reflect
Meet with teachers after each lesson to discuss what happened and why.
Apply
Translate what you’ve seen into practical strategies for your own teaching.
This is what turns experience
into genuine professional development.
