Intensive English with Action

July 4th - August 12th, 2022, Ages 16 - 19

Intensive English with Action is a fun summer program for international students that combines English lessons with digital skills, sustainability education and cultural activities.
  • 20 hours tuition per week (15 hours English skills and 5 hours Digital Skills or Climate Action project work)
  • Language Level – B1 to C1
  • Start dates – Arrivals every Sunday
  • A varied and high quality social and cultural programme to explore the fun and exciting city of Dublin
  • It is designed that participants can join a specific program theme for two weeks or combine programs into a 4 to 6 week stay

How to write a script and plan your shots to entertain and keep your audience watching.
4 Edit and enhance
How to use free online tools to edit, enhance and add filters to your photos to maximise their impact.

How X used video and photos to create a personal brand to further her career and life opportunities.

6 Make a movie
How to shoot and edit short videos online adding sound and text.
7 Publish your photos
Upload your photos and film and embed them in a blog post or on social media.
8 Share your story
Compete with your classmates to see whose story will gain the most likes, shares, and views.
9 Measure, track and analyse
How to use simple ways to track the ROI of your content and social media strategy.
10 Winning on the web
Project presentation, learning review, and who will be crowned the storytelling champion?

Learn about local and global biodiversity loss and the solutions for restoring natural habitats.
4 Plastic Pollution
Plastic is everywhere. Learn the cause, effects, and solutions to fighting plastic pollution.
5 Ocean Waste & Beach Cleaning
Ocean waste is entering the food chain and ruining our beaches. Simple actions to help make change.

6 Reforestation & Carbon Offsetting
Learn about reforestation and carbon offsetting and their role in reducing our carbon footprint.
7 Fast Fashion
Cheap clothes and fast fashion have significant environmental and human impacts.
8 Sustainable Transport
How we travel has a big impact. How technology and habit change can fight global emissions.

How to take action and to create a project that impacts on your school and local environment.

We recognise that young adults enjoy their sense of independence so while we’ve included a varied activity programme, we give them the freedom to choose what they want to join. All activities on our programme are guided by friendly ELI staff.
