The Importance of Climate Change Education

Be a Changemaker: The Importance of Climate Change Education

The spectre of climate change has been with us for more than half a century. It is now that we have reached a pivotal point in how we deal with the crisis. Young activists, such as Greta Thunberg, have highlighted, not only the crisis, but also the sheer disparity in knowledge between generations. Young people are often very aware of the destruction of the environment taking place all over the world and may be more aware of it than their parents or teachers.

Despite this, there is a disconnect between the awareness they have and their role for change. Often young learners feel that responsibility lies with governments or someone else without realising their generation face the consequences of policy actions taking place today. The course aims to provide participants with theory and practical knowledge that they can apply to their daily classes and / or educational centre’s educational policy.
